The Sculptress
Terms & Conditions, Complaints & Legal Policies
1. Deposits
All appointments require a deposit to secure your booking. Deposits are deducted from the treatment cost unless otherwise stated.
2. Course Packages & Non-Refundable Deposits
Course deposits are non-refundable. They secure your place on a course and access to discounted package pricing. They are not account credit. If a course is not completed for any reason, the deposit remains non-refundable. Standard treatment prices may apply to attended sessions where applicable.
3. Appointment Changes
48 hours' notice is required to reschedule. One reschedule per deposit. Late cancellations or no-shows forfeit the deposit or treatment session.
4. Refund Policy
Completed treatments are non-refundable. Treatment outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Goodwill gestures are entirely discretionary and do not constitute an admission of liability.
5. Post-Operative Disclaimer
Healing varies between individuals. Swelling, fibrosis, seromas, bruising, delayed healing and infection are recognised surgical risks. The Sculptress cannot accept responsibility for complications arising from surgery, normal healing or treatment carried out elsewhere.
6. Scope of Practice
The Sculptress provides manual lymphatic drainage, post-operative support and body contouring within the professional scope of its practitioners. We do not diagnose medical conditions, prescribe medication, diagnose or treat infections, aspirate seromas or remove stitches unless undertaken independently by an appropriately registered healthcare professional.
7. Medical Advice
Clients must follow their surgeon's advice. Any signs of infection or medical concern should be directed to the client's surgeon, GP, NHS 111 or A&E; where appropriate.
8. Garments & Aftercare
Compression garments, foams and aftercare recommendations are based on clinical assessment. Clients remain responsible for following aftercare advice.
9. Clinical Records
The clinic keeps consultation forms, treatment notes, photographs, video recordings and communication history. These may be used for complaint investigations, insurance or legal purposes.
10. Complaints Procedure
Complaints must be submitted in writing within 14 days. Complaints may be investigated using consultation records, treatment notes, photographs, videos and communications. Acknowledgement within 5 working days and a full response aimed within 28 days.
11. Abuse
Abusive or threatening behaviour towards staff will not be tolerated.
12. Right to Refuse Treatment
Treatment may be declined where clinically inappropriate or where staff safety is compromised.
13. Third Party Treatment
The Sculptress cannot accept responsibility for advice or treatment carried out by another clinic, therapist, nurse, surgeon or healthcare professional before, during or after treatment with us.
14. Clinical Photography & Video
Photographs and videos may be taken for clinical documentation, treatment planning, monitoring progress and complaint investigation.
15. Evidence
Contemporaneous records may be relied upon over later recollections when investigating complaints.
16. No Admission of Liability
Reviewing concerns, offering advice or a goodwill gesture does not constitute an admission of liability.
17. Independent Healing
Healing is influenced by many factors including surgery, anatomy, aftercare, garments and individual physiology. Specific outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
18. Medical Complications
The occurrence of recognised surgical complications does not, by itself, indicate negligence by The Sculptress.
19. Goodwill
Any refund, complimentary appointment or discount is entirely discretionary.
20. Limitation of Liability
Nothing excludes liability where prohibited by UK law.
21. Post-Operative Treatment
Manual lymphatic drainage supports the body's natural healing process but is not a substitute for medical care.
22. Professional Judgement
Different practitioners may follow different protocols. A difference in clinical opinion does not mean treatment was negligent.
23. Client Responsibility
Clients must provide accurate medical information and disclose any changes in health.
24. Entire Agreement
Booking, paying a deposit or attending treatment confirms acceptance of these terms.
